Shreveport, LA

We arrived in Shreveport on Tuesday the 29th.  It's been a crazy time!  Elisha arrived sick so we spent the first couple days trying to keep him happy.  He had a virus and a mild ear infection.  We knew we wanted to get that ear clear before our next flight!  We did learn that no matter how bad Eli feels he's never too sick to flirt.  He could be crying one minute and smiling and tilting his head at a lady the next! :)  He is feeling much better now and we are all enjoying him.  Yesterday after naps he sat in the front yard and waved to all the cars passing by Gramma Joy's house.
Lillian has had good days and bad days since we arrived here.  Seeing friends and family has been sweet but I think it also reminds her that it's not for long and she's been sad (that presents itself in many forms, most of them ugly).
Yesterday was wonderful as we had the chance to worship with Bruce's family and our home fellowship.  They loved on us and we were affirmed in our setting out on this adventure!
The evening was finished by meeting an old friend in the parking lot and talking for over an hour!  Thank you Sherry for hunting us down!  We love you.

Enjoy these pics we took before church.  God has spoiled us with this weather in Shreveport!

I'm horrible at this picture taking thing but I tried.
Bruce is much better!

Learning New Things at Grandmas

Eli has discovered many more things to get into this time at Grandmas.
1.  He ate dog food :) and the dog bone.

2.  He really wants to touch the fan.
3.  He keeps trying to stoke the fire in the woodstove.
4.  He's climbing the steps!

5.  He really likes hanging with Logan.

It's a ...

BOY!!!
We were thrilled to find out we are having a boy on Wednesday!  Even more exciting that Mom, Marce, and Jodie got to see the baby as well!  Lillian was set on having a sister but took the news well.  She put her head in her hands for a minute and then announced his name will be "Beast."

We had such great weather to be in Washington DC on Thursday.  The kids were great, Lillian walked most of the day!  We rode the metro, tried new foods and met as many people as we could.

Reunited at last...

We were blessed to be able to visit with Melissa while she was in VA.  Melissa and her husband, Rick, served with us in Port Sulphur, LA.  Melissa is one of Lillian's favorite people!  Yay for good friends.

Shot Clinic #3

This shot clinic was the final one!!!!  Lillian only had one shot so that was good.  Poor Eli had FOUR!  But tears dried up quickly when we got to the after clinic party!

Daddy Daughter Time

Lil was very proud of her snout she made at school!
Eli has been having a hard time napping at childcare so he's not very happy in the afternoons when I pick him up.  Yesterday I put him in the stroller and we walked and visited people to keep him happy.  This gave Bruce and Lillian the chance to have some one on one time.  They went down to the pond and hopped around on the rocks and just enjoyed nature, something that makes them both very happy! :)  They didn't take the camera with them but they got these pics before they left.

Elisha's First Birthday Party

Yummy! Icing!
We had a blast celebrating Eli's birthday this Saturday.  Many family and friends were able to join us for the party. Eli's actual birthday is March 9th, the day after Mardi Gras, so we felt a purple, green, and gold theme was a must.  Many thanks to my NOLA friends for helping me pull this off!
TG- you made the most adorable invite and I have gotten so many compliments on it.
MAB - thank you for the beads!  they were quite a hit!
Tremmes - a king cake!  you spoiled us!
Monette - Lillian's shirt was too cute!
Mom - Eli's shirt is precious!
He hated the cute hat!
The kids LOVED the beads!
Celebrate!

Surprise!

Mom and Dad visited a couple weeks ago so I wasn't expecting them for Elisha's party.  Mom surprised me and arrived on Saturday with Marce and the kids.  Thank you Mom!  It was such a special day!

My Beautiful Kiddos

I was looking at my children the other day and it hit me just how beautiful they are. I'm not just speaking of their physical attributes but their overall significance to me. With this in mind I began to think of how beautiful they are to God. Not just them, but all of His children. If I, as broken as I am, can love my children with the intense love I have, how much more does God intensely love His children? Even in our rebellion He sent His Son as a sacrifice to pay the sin debt we accumulated. He did this so that we could have that Father/child relationship the HE desired...not I. How great the Father's love for us.

"See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are." 1 John 3:1

Snip Snip

Bruce and I have been throwing around the idea that Lillian needs a haircut.  Lucky us we have a quad-mate that is a hairstylist! J  She came over this evening and gave Lillian her first CUT.  Lil has had trims before but this was the first time we really took some length off.  We all love it!  Thank you quad-mate!

I'm not sure what this look was for...

Visitors

the pool was our favorite part of the hotel!!

Fun time with cousin Noah!

Eli did get to swim but it's hard to find swim
diapers this time of year so he didn't last long!

We were blessed to have visitors this weekend.  Lillian and Elisha were thrilled to see Grandma and Granddaddy.  We played, ate, worshipped, swam and just enjoyed being together.  Thank you for coming Mom and Dad.  I love you!

Shot Clinic #2

For the LePoints the first shot clinic wasn’t so bad.  The kids got one shot a piece and I didn’t get any since I’m with child J  Eli was the hero of the day and didn’t even cry when he got stuck.
This Friday was quite a different story.  Lillian got three shots and a TB skin test.  That’s four sticks total!  Both kids cried at the scene but when we arrived home Lillian was quite the hero.

Let me out!

trying to get outside to Daddy and Lil

Valentine's Mail

The kids were asleep when we got home last night.  They had received Valentine’s mail!  Lillian was super excited to open her cards this morning and even Eli thought his was pretty cool.  Thanks Grandma Barbara, Aunt Ally, and Gerry!  You made their morning!

Love and Lovely Weather

We were pleasantly surprised with wonderful weather today.  It was close to 70 degrees!!!  The VA weather has been rough on us Louisiana folks.  The children have had chapped faces and hands and my lips have stayed chapped since walking around on campus is our new mode of transportation.  But today we enjoyed the outside with no jackets!
We were spoiled this evening by our friends.  They kept our children so we could go to dinner.  Bruce and I tried out a new Indian restaurant called Lehja.  If you are ever near Short Pump Mall we highly recommend it.  It was incredible.  Afterward we enjoyed window shopping, just the two of us.
Lil is learning to walk on her hands

Mom, why are making us look into the sun?!
